The 2nd of the Ardennes classics
On Wednesday 19 April 2023, the men’s and women’s editions of the Flèche Wallonne will welcome the biggest stars of the peloton on the iconic Mur de Huy with exhausting and explosive races. The Walloon Classic, in the heart of Spring, is a highlight of the cycling season. A race reserved for the ‘puncheurs’ and ‘puncheuses’. The race features the infamous Mur de Huy. The Flèche Wallonne is one of the 3 ‘Ardennes Classics’. The Ardennes Triptych starts with the Amstel Gold Race followed by Fleche Wallone mid-week and finally Liege Bastogne Liege.

The Mur de Huy has long been the steepest climb on the women’s calendar, the one that allows hill-climbing and sprinting specialists to get together on a climb that can suit both explosive types of riders.

A wall to decide the king of the The Flèche Wallonne promises an intense battle between the best climbers capable of swallowing double-digit percentages.
Before the great battle of the Chemin des Chapelles, the men’s peloton will be able to build up pressure on the slopes of the climbs of Tancrémont and Les Forges. The start will be from Blegny, where the Royal cyclist’s Pesant Liège club is based. They’ve co-organized Liège-Bastogne-Liège since 1892.
Criquielion Area
Located at the top of the Mur de Huy, you will experience a spectacular atmosphere whilst enjoying the race. In this hospitality area you will watch both the women’s and men’s races come past multiple times before seeing the winner cross the finish line. Enjoy complimentary food and drinks, and while you’re waiting for the riders you can watch the race live on the tv screens. The VIP area is only available for groups of 10.
