Madrid will see the 78th edition of the Vuelta a Espana come to a close. The full route of 2023 race is yet to be announced but we know the start is going to be held in Barcelona and after the riders have battled it out over the course of three weeks, there can only be one winner of the Red Jersey. Remco Evenepoel won in spectacular style in the 2022 race. Will he be back to battle for a second win, or will we see a new champion in 2023? The final Grand Tour of the year will finish in Madrid on Sunday 17th September. The final stage will finish on the streets of Madrid late afternoon/ early evening.

Saturday 16th September-Arrival Day : Madrid

Arrival in Madrid. Your chance to settle into your hotel and explore the city.

The airport you will arrive into is Madrid-Barajas Airport and it is the main hub for airlines such as Ryanair, Vueling and EasyJet.

Metro 

The Metro is accessible from all terminals and is a short journey into the centre of Madrid. Your ticket will cost around €6.

Taxi

Only use an official white taxi recognisable by the red stripes and Madrid City Council Shields on the door. From the airport the set fare is €30

Bus

There is a 24 hour bus service from the airport to Atocha, here you can get the Metro. Single ticket is €5

 

 

Sunday 17th September -Race Day : Madrid

Enjoy a tasty breakfast at your hotel before spending the day watching the race on the final day. You will then see the winner of the 78th Red Jersey lift the trophy!

The stage is raced over 10 laps in Rome city centre so you will see lots of action today. Why not make it extra special and buy one of our Giro d’Italia VIP Hospitality experiences.

After a fabulous weekend, you will depart Madrid.
