Glorious Gravel: Surrey
Explore a new part of Surrey, away from the famous climbs, avoiding the roads and going well off the beaten track. This 74km loop from the stunning Mill at Elstead should take you between 4 & 6 hrs with some rolling hills at the start & end either side of a long, fast and flat section on the Downs Links.
The ride is covid secure with groups of 6 starting every 5 minutes & spacious feed stops. There are ride marshalls supporting you on the route & a broom wagon to collect anyone that needs it. The Glorious Gravel series is all about getting out into nature and celebrating the beautiful country we call home. We have feed stops every 25km with coffee, soup & a roll as well as fruit, waffles, OTE bars and hydration. This ride is suitable for most abilities with few technical sections and a mostly flat or rolling route.

Event Director's Notes:
Starting & finishing at the stunning Mill at Elstead, the route starts & ends with some climbing with a relatively flat & fast 40km in the middle. We start with a short climb up to Puttenham Common before joining the Downs Link on the old railway line. The last includes most of the climbing through woods & heath before returning back to Elstead.

Ride Rules
Preparing for the Ride
Our events are open to all off-road bikes. While it is aimed primarily at Gravel & Adventure bikes, which are essentially fat tyred drop bar bikes, you are also most welcome on a mountain bike or cyclocross bike. We recommend a tyre width of 33+mm for most for our rides.Â
What to bring : You will be further from van support or facilities you would find in most towns than with our road trips so it is advisable to take a little more with you.Â
GPS device with route loaded , Spare tube or Tubeless plug , Pump and/or CO2 , Mini tool , Jacket and/or additional layersÂ
We will email you the GPX route & a full breakdown of the route one week before the ride. Our route director will then be at the start to give you last minute advice and tips. You will be asked to select a start window which we will then confirm one week before the ride to ensure you roll out in group sizes based on current restrictions.
