This has to be the most anticipated cycling event in the cycling calendar and on our 5 night cycling holiday we put you right in the heart of the action. Arriving in Alpe d’Huez on the first of the Tour’s official rest days we will base ourselves for 5 night in a beautiful alpine chalet. Each day our Head Guide, Mike, will guide you on carefully designed rides around the local area to enjoy some fine alpine climbing before being in being in situ for the Tour’s finish in Alpe d’Huez.

Arrival Day: Travel to Alpe d’Huez
Today Is the second official rest day of the 2022 Tour de France, in Chatel.
Today you can either make your own way to Alp d’Huez where a member of our team will be awaiting your arrival, or if you are arriving into Lyon or Geneva airports, we will also be on hand to meet you and transfer you and your bike to Alp d’Huez.
This afternoon and early evening, our tour leaders and bike mechanics will be are available to assist with your bike setup. The evening is then yours to explore Alpe d’Huez. We would recommend eating out in one of Alpe d’Huez’s many excellent restaurants.

After breakfast and preparing the bikes, we will take you on a supported, guided ride. Details of some of the ride options can be found below. Please be aware these will be subject to chance depending on the group’s ability.

Stage 11 of the Tour de France departs from Albertville. On the way to the finish on the Col du Granon, the route takes in the very picturesque Lacets de Montvernier, followed by two very popular climbs of the tour, the Col du Télégraphe and Col du Galibier. We will take you in our tour vehicles to watch the tour on the Col de Lautaret. From this vantage point we will see the riders come past as they descend the Galibier towards Serre Chevalier.
Riders have the option to ride along the valley floor and up the Lautaret to meet the group. For those who still have the legs for it, you could even ride all the way to the top of the Galibier.
Day Four: Stage 12 - Briancon to Alpe d'Huez
The Queen stage of this year’s tour is Stage 12 finishing in Alpe d’Huez. This 166 kilometres test starts in Briançon and takes in the Col du Galibier and Col de la Croix de Fer before the final attacks are played out on the famous slopes of Alpe d’Huez.
You’re ideally located right in the middle of all the action. The choice is yours today, either stay in Alpe d’Huez where the party atmosphere is sure to be electric and wait for the rider to hit the finish line in the many outdoor bars the town has to offer or perhaps descend slightly to see the action play out on one of the famous bends, Dutch Corner perhaps?

Le Bourg d’Oisans, at the foot of Alpe d’Huez, plays host to the Stage 13 depart.
We will take you down to Bourg d’Oisans to enjoy the build up to the start of the stage today. From here you can watch the riders arrive after yesterday’s epic stage. Mingle around the team buses and watch the riders warm up and finally at 11:00 you can watch as the riders line up and roll out on their journey to St Etienne.
Following the tour’s departure we will make our way back up to Alpe d’Huez and head out on another guided ride for the afternoon.

Maximum 12 guests - Chalet can only be booked as sole occupancy for a group 125-135m² chalet. 3-floored chalet with 6 bedrooms (2 double & 4 twins). The ground floor has a garage, sauna and 1 bedroom.
