  • Beautiful Bled: One of the most photographed lakes in the world, Bled is our base for the first two nights and the last night. A perfect base in the foothills of the Julian Alps.

  • Climb the Mangart Saddle: Climbs over 2,000m are not limited to France, Italy & Spain. We ride the Mangart Saddle on day three before descending back to the finish in Bovec.

  • Ride the Vrsic Pass: The most famous climb in Slovenia, the Vrsic Pass goes to over 1,600m with some steep (12%) sections and cobbled corners. A unique and beautiful challenge.

Tour of Slovenia Cycling Holiday

Five days & four nights in stunning Slovenia taking in the best rides in the Julian Alps. This region shared similarities with the Dolomites with beautiful rock structures and green pastures. There are two classic climbs on the route: the Vrsic Pass (11km at 7%) with some steep ramps and cobbled sections & the Mangart Saddle (21km at 7%) with a summit above 2,000m. We stay for 3 nights in Bled & one night in the mountains in Bovec with a great mix of rolling rides & cracking climbs. Slovenia is an absolutely amazing place to ride!

Day One : Bled

Arrival day. Our main transfer leaves Ljubljana at 11.15am to get to Bled for 12pm. Our mechanic is on hand to fit rental bikes or help build your bikes. At 3pm we head out for a short coffee spin. We will be out for 2 hours including a short climb. Dinner is at 7pm where we run through the itinerary for the weekend.

Day Two : Bled

Plenty of climbing but suitable for most regular riders.

Breakfast is from 7am to 8.30am. We roll out promptly at 9.30am and ride 120km today. We always have one road guide at the front of the group, one at the back and our support van floating. We set up feed stations every 40km with bars, fruit and water. We stop for lunch at a cafe and get back to the hotel for 5pm.

Day Three : Bled - Bovec

A Queen Stage day: multiple classic climbs and an epic ride.

The Queen Stage. We leave at 9am today for the main ride of the weekend, 128km over both the Vrsic Pass and Mangart Saddle. Both climbs are absolutely spectacular. We have lunch in Bovec before hitting the 22km Mangart Saddle and then descending back to Bovec where we spend the night.

Day Four : Bovec - Bled

Rolling terrain with the occasional climb.

Today we explore another part of Slovenia as we complete our loop of the North West of the country. The ride today is mostly rolling through forest with some amazing views. We aim to get back to Bled for 4pm where we spend the night and have one last dinner all together.

Day Five : Bled

Departure day. After four good rides, have a lie in before a late breakfast. Time to stroll round the lake or visit the famous island before our transfer departs at 1pm to Ljubljana. We arrive at 2pm so book flights after 4pm.

Bled Region & Bovec

Our Slovenia tour starts and finishes close to Lake Bled in the picturesque Vila Triglav, a lovely hotel run by our brilliant local guide and Tour de France legend Tadej. This hotel is set back in the countryside with a great deck. On day day three we ride over the Vrsic pass to Bovec and spend a night in the pretty 3* Hotel Mangart in Bovec at the base of the Mangart saddle.

Airport Transfers

Airport collections are from Ljubljana (LJU) and the drive to Bled takes around 30 minutes. If you cannot find flights to match our times please get in touch and we should be able to collect you for no extra cost.
