Climb Mt Etna: We mix more gentle climbs with some iconic rides including the classic climb up Mt Etna

A coffee stop with a difference: As coffee stops go, this might be the best in Europe. The same bar Al Pacino drank at in the Godfather is also right next to an incredible descent.

Sicily Cycling Holiday
Sicily is the largest island in the med with a fascinating history and incredible landscapes. Home to Vincenzo Nibali, the island is rolling throughout with one large climb in Mount Etna. Several pro teams come and train here in Jan / Feb to make the most of the early season sunshine and mix of terrain. This 4 night Sicily cycling break includes rides up Mount Etna and to the villages used in the Godfather. Our rides are on quiet backroads and the carb loading is out of this world!

Day One : Arrival & Warm Up Ride
• We meet with our mechanics to build bikes and to check the fit for those who have opted to rent a bike from us.
• For those arriving on the early transfers, we have a short afternoon ride.

Flat to rolling day with max one main climb.

• Today we will ride on rolling terrain and visit the stunning town of Taormina
• After a relaxing breakfast we will meet at 9.45am for a 10am rollout.
• Today’s ride goes down to Taormina and then inland to the home.
• Lunch in Taormina and some time to explore the sights.
Day Three : Etna Day

• We will today ride the biggest climb on the island, Mount Etna.
• It will be a gentle ride, allowing each rider to go at their own pace.
Day Four : The Godfather Ride

• Today we will experience the villages filled in the Godfather.
• After a relaxing breakfast we will meet at 9.30am for a 9.45am rollout.
• Today’s ride goes down to Taormina and then inland to the villages where the Godfather was set.
• After coffee and cake at Bar Vitelli, we will head back to the hotel for mid-afternoon relaxation before dinner.
Day Five : Departure Day
Departure day. One last breakfast and then a 1hr drive back to the airport.

Our base in Sicily is the wonderful Il Picciolo Etna Resort & Spa. The hotel is a large property with a nice golf course, swimming pool and spa. Rooms are spacious and the riding out of the door is great with Etna on one side, the ocean not far away and some easy rolling terrain to start and finish each ride.
