BMX comes to Glasgow.

BMX Freestyle Flatland

Freestyle is exactly that, riders will perform a routine containing a variety of spins, impossible angles and tricks never seen before will earn them the highest points. The atmosphere will be electric while fans cheer on the riders competing for the win!

BMX Freestyle Park

With big ramps and a score of 100 to aim for, the riders will have two 60 second rounds to showcase their skills to the judges. With riders trying to perform new tricks to achieve the highest scores, some will fail, but those who succeed could take home the ultimate prize of the rainbow stripes!

BMX Trials

This event tests riders ability to get round the course without any errors. Each gate can earn a rider a maximum of 10 points, 60 points is the best score per section and 300 per lap might be what is required to win! Riders technical skills and bicycle-based agility will be tested. The rider that comes out on top will take home the Rainbow Jersey!

2023 UCI Cycling World Championships
3 - 13 August

In the first event of its kind - never seen nor cycled before - the world’s greatest riders will come together in Glasgow and across Scotland in August 2023 to compete at the highest level over thirteen world championships. Across various venues in Scotland we will celebrate cycling and cycling culture for the first time with this many cycling disciplines on show in the same location. Gran Fondo

Amateur riders can be world champions too!! Qualify at a series of events worldwide and represent your country in Scotland at the 2023 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships and Time Trial.

Track Cycling

Enjoy the atmosphere at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow. take your seat track-side and be there for the various disciplines of the fast and furious sport of track cycling.

MTB Downhill

The stunning surroundings of Nevis Range and Fort William will also provide an awe-inspiring backdrop for both athletes and visiting spectators from around the world.

BMX Racing

BMX Racing heads to the Glasgow BMX Centre in Knightswood, where fans will see the world’s best compete in high-speed sprint races across a purpose-built racetrack.

Road Race

The city’s famous George Square will play host to the finish line of the road cycling events. The roads and landmarks around the city will showcase this exciting event which traditionally attracts huge crowds of spectators

Time Trials

Stirling will provide the stage for some of the world’s best cyclists after being announced as the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships time trial venue as part of the biggest cycling event ever held.

MTB Marathon & Cross Country

The variety of technical terrain at Glentress will challenge even the most seasoned MTB Marathon and Cross Country riders.

BMX Freestyle & Parkland

Kelvingrove Park will be packed with action as it welcomes cycling’s newest Olympic discipline BMX Freestyle Park as well as BMX Freestyle Flatland and trials.

Para Road Races & Time Trials

The world’s best para-cyclists take on Scotland’s roads in Dumfries and Galloway on the road and time trials.

Artistic Cycling & Cycle-Ball

The Emirates Arena will come alive with cycling’s awe-inspiring disciplines of artistic cycling and cycle-ball.

Trials

Riders hop, hook and wheel jump their way up, down and over purpose-built obstacles designed to test the extremes of bicycle-based agility and technical skill.
