4th June 2023
Why Book This Trip?
Milan San Remo takes place in March is the first of the 5 Monuments of Cycling. It is the longest one day event of the entire Pro calendar. The Granfondo MILAN – SAN REMO cicloturistica in June covers the same route as the famous Spring Classic. This is the longest one day amateur road cycling event in the world, with a distance of about 296km from the outskirts of Milan, crossing the Lombardy and Piedmont Plains, proceeding to the ascent of the Turchino and arriving finally at the Ligurian Riviera.
Logistics are tricky as the start and the finish are so far apart. That is where we come in! This is your opportunity to ride the route of the longest one day event on the UCI calendar. Stay 2 nights in Milan and 1 night in Sanremo. Airport transfers from Milan Malpensa on arrival and to Nice on departure are included as well as 3 nights hotel on half board basis, your Gran Fondo entry and the services of our local team led by Giro d’Italia stage winner Andrea Ferrigato. On race day, you ride whilst we offer private feed stations plus we transport your luggage to Sanremo. Non-cyclists plus riders with their own entry can also come along and join us at a discount.
Spread your payments: Our payment plan is an interest-free payment method where you will have the opportunity to spread payment for your booking.
Entry included: Included with your booking is a start in Pen 2 or pay a £20 upgrade fee to start in the front pen.

The Gran Fondo Milan – San Remo cicloturistica covers the 300 km that separate Milan from San Remo, re-tracing the same roads as the Spring Classicissima. There are a couple of slight differences at the start and the finish. The starting point has been changed from the Castello Sforzesco in Milan to the south of the city, in Pieve Emanuele in order to avoid the traffic of the Lombardy capital, and the arrival is in Lungomare Salvo d’Acquisto in San Remo rather than on the Corsa Roma. The rest of the route is absolutely faithful to that followed by the professionals.
The Granfondo Milan – San Remo cicloturistica follows the same routes of the Classicissima of the centennial, with the legendary climbs of Turchino, Cipressa, and Poggio that have given this event its mythical status.
- PASSO DEL TURCHINO – 3.2km, 373m of climbing with an average gradient of 1.4% and a max gradient of 6%
- CAPO MELE – 2.5km, 104m of climbing with an average gradient of 5.2% and a max gradient of 6%
- CAPO CERVO – 2.5km, 110m of climbing with an average gradient of 4.1% and a max gradient of 5%
- CAPO BERTA – 3km, 128m of climbing with an average gradient of 4.3% and a max gradient of 8%
- CIPRESSA – 5.6km, 226m of climbing with an average gradient of 4.1% and a max gradient of 7%
- POGGIO DI SANREMO – 3.7km, 137m of climbing with an average gradient of 3.5% and a max gradient of 6%
Today is the day! We have an early start this morning. Early breakfasts are arranged in the hotel restaurant. Please have your luggage ready in reception today as we’re transporting all your belongings to Sanremo whilst you ride.
Getting to the start
It’s just a short 13km ride from our hotel to the start line. Our staff will be on hand this morning if you have any last-minute mechanical issues, and to give you directions to the start line.
Private feed stops and the finish
We offer 2 private feed and support stations on the route with real food as you will miss out on lunch today. At the finish we will guide you over to our hotel in Sanremo.
In Sanremo you can have the post-ride pasta buffet. We are there to meet you and to guide you to the hotel. We’ll meet you for post ride beers at the hotels from 17.00.
We will have an evening meal together at the hotel this evening, where you can share tales of your exploits. We’ll assist you with re-packing your bikes for travel tomorrow.
We will run one airport transfer to Nice Airport today. We will leave Sanremo at 08.00 and we’ll arrive at the airport at 09.00 for flights departing after 11.30.
If you book a flight at any other time, please contact us directly to discuss private transfer options. We can offer airport transfers to other airports depending on how many people are departing at the same time.
